Event Details

You are cordially invited to attend a very special evening of music featuring acclaimed acoustic guitarist and recording artist Shambhu and the gifted composer and pianist Geoffrey Menin, in a benefit performance for the Fortunate Blessings Foundation and Save the Children: Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

Geoffrey and Shambhu met in 1972, formed a fast friendship and spiritual connection and played countless parties for friends and family. This is the first time they are collaborating for a concert of original music, and their dedication of the evening to helping our sisters and brothers in Japan makes the concert even more meaningful.

Nominated as Best Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Acoustic Instrumental and Best World Music CD, Shambhu's debut CD "Sacred Love" topped the radio charts within six weeks of release, and reviewers have acclaimed Sacred Love as "One of the Best Albums of the Year (or any year)." Shambhu has recorded and performed with Sacred Love co-producer Will Ackerman, Tony Levin, Michael Manring, George Brooks, Ravichandra Kulur, Carlos Santana, and Narada Michael Walden. Listen to Shambhu on PANDORA. Also find him on iTunes and Amazon.

Geoffrey has been writing and performing music in many genres for his entire life. He studied with Joan Panetti at Yale and with Leon Kirschner at Harvard. He has performed with musicians ranging from Buddy Miles, Stanley Jordan and Charlie Daniels to Paul Winter and Yo Yo Ma.  This evening will feature the premiere of a new suite of original compositions dedicated to the well-being of the Japanese people.

Seating capacity is limited. Prepaid ticket buyers will have seats reserved. Pay at the door tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We expect this show to sell out quickly.
